Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Valve stem oil seal sets will contain 2 different colored seals, black and green. The set of 8 seals that are green should be installed onto the exhaust valves.

  1. Using the EN-46116  installer (1), install NEW valve stem oil seal (2).

    NOTE:

    Make sure that the valve springs and the valve spring retainers are installed in their original position.

  3. Install the exhaust valve spring (1), or the intake valve spring (3) and the upper valve spring retainer (2).

    CAUTION:

    The valve stem keys must correctly seat in the valve spring cap. Engine damage may occur by not installing properly.

  5. Using the EN-50717-2  compressor, push down the valve spring retainer (1) and compress the valve spring (3) until the valve keys (2) can be inserted.
  6. Carefully insert the valve keys (2), so that they are properly installed into the valve stem grooves.
  7. Carefully release the tension from the EN-50717-2  compressor.
  8. Inspect the valve keys (2) and valve spring retainer (1) for proper seat.

    NOTE:

    To keep the valve seated in the valve seat, ensure that air pressure is always applied to the combustion chamber of the treated cylinder.

  10. Repeat the procedure with the remaining valves and cylinders.
  11. Transfer the EN-50717-1  stands, EN-51511  plug and the EN-50717-2  compressor (1 - 6) as needed.
  12. Remove the EN-51511  plug from the injector bores.
  13. Remove EN-50717-1  stands and the EN-50717-2  compressor from the cylinder head.
  14. Install Hydraulic Valve Lash Adjuster Arm Replacement 
  15. Install Spark Plug Replacement
