Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Install Timing Chain Tensioner Shoe (2).
- Install Timing Chain Tensioner Shoe Bolt (1) and tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
- Install a NEW gasket.(2)
- Install Timing Chain Tensioner(1)
- Install Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (4) - and tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Remove the suitable tool (3) from the timing chain tensioner.
- Remove the EN-51367 holder (1).
- Install Timing Chain Upper Guide - Timing Chain Upper Guide Replacement
- Check the position of the crankshaft, camshaft and camshaft position actuator adjuster.
- TEMPORARILY install the engine front cover with 4 bolts and the crankshaft balancer.
- Turn crankshaft 720 degrees in the direction of engine rotation by the crankshaft balancer bolt (3).
- Install the EN-51367 holder (1).
- Remove the EN-51367 holder.
- Remove the TEMPORARILY installed engine front cover and crankshaft balancer.
- Install Engine Front Cover - Engine Front Cover Replacement
- Install Front Wheelhouse Liner-Right Side - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Equinox)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Terrain)
- Install Camshaft Cover - Camshaft Cover Replacement
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:
If the EN-51367 holder (1) can be installed, the engine timing is properly adjusted. If the EN-51367 holder (1) can not be installed, confirm the engine is set to cylinder 1 top dead center (TDC) of combustion stroke.

Right Side
