Removal Procedure

  1. Remove Upper Oil Pan Replacement 
    2. Fig 1: Unlocking Tensioner

  2. Push the oil pump drive chain tensioner (1) in direction of arrow.
  3. Lock the tensioner using a suitable tool (2).
  4. If replacing the oil pump, remove the oil pump flow control solenoid valve. Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Replacement

    NOTE:

    It may be necessary to leave one fastener in the pump assembly to secure the pump prior to removing it from the engine.

  5. Remove all EXCEPT one of the oil pump fasteners (1) securing the oil pump (2).

    NOTE:

    The last oil pump fastener should be removed while simultaneously tilting the pump in the direction of the arrow.

  6. Remove the remaining oil pump fastener.
  7. Remove the oil pump (1).

  8. Remove and DISCARD the oil pump seals (1).
