Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief

  2. Disconnect Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) @ Engine Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement
  3. Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)

  4. Remove Intake Manifold Cover (3) - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement

  18. Disconnect Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe@Radiator Assembly - Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (MNH, MHG)Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (M3D, M3H, M3U)
  19. Remove Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Left Side - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side
  20. Remove Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Right Side - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (AWD)Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (M3U, MHG, MNH, MNK with FWD)Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (M3D, M3H with FWD)
  21. Remove Propeller Shaft -Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement

  23. Remove left and right side the stabilizer link nuts (1) then disconnect the links at the stabilizer. Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Equinox)Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Terrain)

    NOTE:

  24. Remove the left and right side tie rod nuts (1), then disconnect the tie rods (2) from the steering knuckles. Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement

  26. Position a suitable engine table or equivalent under the cradle to support the cradle and powertrain.

  27. Remove Engine Mount Fastener - and DISCARD - Engine Mount Replacement

    NOTE:

    ONLY the fasteners (2) should be removed and DISCARDED

  28. Remove Transmission Mount Fastener (2) and DISCARD [3x] - Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side

    NOTE:

    Use a suitable device to hold the cradle while removing the fasteners.

    NOTE:

    Remove ONLY the body to frame bolts as the powertrain will be removed while still bolted to the frame.

  29. Remove bolts necessary to remove the cradle (1) (2) and (3). Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
  30. Disconnect electrical connections and reposition harnesses as needed.
  31. Carefully lower the engine table and raise the body on the hoist until the engine/transaxle and frame are separated from the vehicle.
  32. Separate the engine from the transmission.   33. Install the engine to a suitable engine stand.
