Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission to the engine. Transmission Replacement (Front Wheel Drive except Diesel Engine)Transmission Replacement (All Wheel Drive except Diesel Engine)Transmission Replacement (All Wheel Drive with Diesel Engine, Equinox)Transmission Replacement (Front Wheel Drive with Diesel Engine)Transmission Replacement (All Wheel Drive with Diesel Engine, Terrain)
  2. Position the powertrain and support table under the vehicle.
  3. Raise the powertrain into position under the vehicle.
  4. With the table positioned, if required, lower the vehicle over the powertrain.

    NOTE:

    Install the previously removed body to frame bolts to secure the frame and powertrain.

  6. Install bolts (1) (2) and frame (3). Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement (All Wheel Drive)

  8. Install Transmission Mount Fastener (2) - [3x] - Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side

    NOTE:

    ONLY the fasteners (1) should be removed and DISCARDED

  10. Install NEW Engine Mount Fastener - Engine Mount Replacement 
  11. Remove the suitable engine table or equivalent from under the powertrain and cradle.
  12. Install Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Left Side - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side
  13. Install Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Right Side - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (AWD)Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (M3U, MHG, MNH, MNK with FWD)Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (M3D, M3H with FWD)
  14. Install Propeller Shaft - Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement

  16. Connect Intermediate Steering Shaft@Steering Gear - Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Equinox)Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Terrain)

  20. Install the tie rod ends (2) then install nuts (1). Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement

  24. Connect Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe@Radiator Assembly - Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (MNH, MHG)Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (M3D, M3H, M3U)
  25. Connect Air Conditioning Evaporator Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose@Air Conditioning Compressor - Air Conditioning Evaporator Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose Replacement (LYX)

  40. Install Exhaust Front Pipe - Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LYX)
  41. Install Underbody Front Air Deflector - Underbody Front Air Deflector Replacement (Equinox)Underbody Front Air Deflector Replacement (Terrain)
  42. Install Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube - Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube Replacement

  44. Install Intake Manifold Cover - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement 
  45. Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
  46. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
  47. NOTE:

    Prelube is necessary if the engine is replaced or overhauled.

  48. If the engine is replaced with a new engine or has been overhauled, perform the engine prelubing procedure. Engine Prelubing 
  49. If the engine has not been replaced or overhauled, check and correct engine oil level as needed. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
