Camshaft Timing Chain Inspection

EN-51367 Camshaft Holder

- Remove Camshaft Cover - Camshaft Cover Replacement
- Remove Front Wheelhouse Liner-Right Side - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Equinox)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Terrain)
- Adjust the engine to cylinder 1 top dead center (TDC) of combustion stroke. Using the balancer bolt (3) rotate the crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until the markings (1, 2) line up.
- Install the EN-51367 holder (1).
- If the EN-51367 holder (1) can be installed, the engine timing is properly adjusted.
- If the EN-51367 holder (1) can't be installed, inspect for wear, damage and proper installation of the timing chain components and replace as necessary. Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement
- Remove the EN-51367 holder (1).
- Install Camshaft Cover - Camshaft Cover Replacement
- Install Front Wheelhouse Liner-Right Side - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Equinox)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Terrain)
NOTE:
The marks of the camshaft position actuators must be at the 12 O'clock position.
