- This diagnostic is used to identify pressure sensor internal faults (measurements with an offset or a drift). The plausibility monitor compares the BARO, MAP and TIAP pressures when the Throttle valve is open, the engine is at idle, and the engine coolant temperature is warmer than a threshold. In that condition, the three sensors are expected to measure the same pressure. If a specific pressure sensor signal drifts from the other two signals, a sensor specific performance DTC sets.
- A skewed or stuck engine coolant temperature (ECT) or intake air temperature (IAT) may cause the calculated models to be inaccurate and may cause this DTC to run when it should not. Refer to the Temperature Versus Resistance - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor , and Temperature Versus Resistance - Intake Air Temperature Sensor table.
- A skewed pressure sensor may cause the intake manifold models to disagree with the actual pressure sensor measurements. Use the scan tool and compare all the Pressure Sensor parameters to the Altitude Versus Barometric Pressure table, and to a known good vehicle, under various operating and extended soak conditions.
