Removal Procedure

Refer to Safety Goggles and Fuel Warning

Refer to Diesel/Gasoline Vapors Warning

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  3. Position aside Exhaust Front Pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LH7)

  4. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator pipe from the 2 retainer clips (1).
  5. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator pipe from the turbocharger wastegate actuator vacuum control solenoid valve (2).
  6. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator pipe from the exhaust gas recirculation vacuum regulator solenoid valve (3).

  7. Disconnect Fuel Return Front Pipe (2) @ Fuel Injection Pump. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  8. Close all connections with suitable closure plugs.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors:
    1. Engine Oil Pressure Switch (3)
    2. Fuel Injection Pump (9)
    3. Starter (8)
    4. Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve (6)
  10. Remove Wiring Harness Clip (4)
  11. Hang the wiring harness (7) aside.
  12. Remove the 2 turbocharger wastegate actuator pipe bracket bolts (1, 5)

  13. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator pipe (1).
  14. Remove and DISCARD the turbocharger wastegate actuator pipe seal (2).
