Diagnostic Aids

- The intake flow rationality diagnostic provides the within-range rationality check for the mass air flow (MAF), manifold absolute pressure (MAP), and the throttle position sensors. This is an explicit model-based diagnostic containing 4 separate models for the intake system that provide estimates of MAF, MAP, and if equipped, barometric pressure (BARO) and throttle inlet air pressure (TIAP). The models are then compared to the actual measured values from the MAF, MAP, BARO, TIAP, the throttle position sensors, and to each other to determine if DTC P0121 is the appropriate DTC to fail.
- A high resistance condition on the throttle position and throttle actuator control circuits could cause a DTC to set.
- If the accelerator pedal is pressed to the wide open throttle position, the throttle blade angle or Throttle Position angle is limited to less than 40 percent.
