Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation

Preliminary Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Disconnect the seat belt from the tensioner. Refer to Front Seat Belt Retractor Replacement (Crew Cab)Front Seat Belt Retractor Replacement (Extended Cab) .

Procedure

1. Set the seat to the full forward position.
2. Adjust the floor carpet to gain access to the rear fastener.
3. Clean the threads of the bolts with a wire brush.
4. Follow the directions of the threadlocker. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .

Procedure

1. Disconnect the front seat and tensioner electrical connector, and passenger presence system connector, if equipped.
2. With the aid of an assistant remove the front seat, by lifting and pulling the seat upward to disengage it from the floor.
