Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
- The lower crankcase surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
- Install and align the oil pan to block within 10 minutes of applying the sealer.
- The oil pan must be fastened to final torque specification within 60 minutes of applying the sealer.
Apply a 4.25 mm bead of sealer (1) on the level part of the flange around the perimeter of the oil pan (2) as shown. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- NOTE:
When installing the oil pan, carefully align the oil pan to the locating pins and install the pan onto the lower crankcase.
Install the oil pan and hand start the oil pan bolts (1), (2) and (3).

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Tighten the oil pan bolts in sequence to final torque twice using the following procedure:
- Tighten bolts in sequence 1 - 11 to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Tighten bolts in sequence 12 - 13 to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Install the catalytic converter lower brace (2).
- Install the catalytic converter to oil pan brace fasteners (1). Tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
Air Conditioning Compressor Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
Connect the oil level switch connector (1).

- Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield - Install - Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield Replacement
- Exhaust Front Pipe - Install - Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LCV)
- Engine Front Cover - Install - Engine Front Cover Replacement
- Refill the engine oil and install a NEW oil filter. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
