Removal Procedure

  1. Set the park brake.
  2. Remove the front floor console. Front Floor Console Replacement .
  3. GM4197275

    Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (2) from the shift lever pin.

  4. Release the transmission range selector lever cable retainer (1) and remove the transmission range selector cable.
  5. Disconnect the transmission control electrical connector.
  6. GM4489334

    Remove the nut and washer (1) from the control assembly.

  7. GM4489340

    Remove the main shaft bolt (1).

  8. GM4489344

    Pull the transmission control assembly (1) rearward and upward to unseat it from the transmission control base.

  9. Remove the transmission control assembly from the vehicle.
