Component Testing

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Remove the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch
  4. Test for 5900 to 6400 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal A & Ground circuit terminal B
    • If not between 5900 and 6400 ohms 

      Replace the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob

    • Go to next step: If between 5900 and 6400 ohms 
  5. Press and hold the switch: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Downshift
  6. Test for 1900 to 2100 kohms between the test points: Signal terminal A & Ground circuit terminal B
    • If not between 1900 and 2100 ohms 

      Replace the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob

    • Go to next step: If between 1900 and 2100 ohms 
  7. Press and hold the switch: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch - Upshift
  8. Test for 600 to 660 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal A & Ground circuit terminal B
    • If not between 600 and 660 ohms 

      Replace the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob

    • Go to next step: If not between 600 and 660 ohms 
  9. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: Transmission Control Lever Knob

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  10. All OK.
