Circuit/System Description

The charge air cooler coolant pump relay is a normally open relay integral to the underhood fuse block. The relay is soldered directly to a printed circuit board (PCB) within the fuse block and is not serviceable as a separate component. Battery voltage is supplied directly to the relay coil and switch. The engine control module (ECM) controls the relay by grounding the control circuit with a solid state device called a driver. The ECM monitors the control circuits for open, short to ground, or short to voltage conditions.
