Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LTG) Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LCV) .
  3. Remove the fuel pump cover. Refer to Fuel Pump Cover Replacement .
  4. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
1 Fuel Pump Intermediate Pipe Fittings (Qty:2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .


Procedure 
Hand start both ends of the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe (2).
  1. Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail to 15 (11 lb ft).
  2. Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump to 15 (11 lb ft).
  3. Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail a final pass to 30 (22 lb ft).
  4. Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump a final pass to 30 (22 lb ft).
2 Fuel Pump Intermediate Pipe
NOTE:

The pipe fittings are a one time use, always install a NEW fuel pump intermediate pipe.
