Installation Procedure

- Inspect the anti-rotation tab of the lower brace bracket (2) to ensure that the tab is flush with the oil pan rib.
- If the brace bracket has been removed or adjustment is required, position the bracket and tighten the bolt (1) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Catalytic Converter Seal - Install
- Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter - Install
- Catalytic Converter Nut - Hand tighten
- Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket-Upper - Install
- Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Bolt - Hand tighten
- Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket-Lower - Install
- Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Bolt - Hand tighten
- Catalytic Converter Nut - Tighten 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Bolt - Tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
- Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Bolt - Tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Electrical Connector - Connect
- Exhaust Muffler - Install - Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LCV) Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LF4) Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LTG)
- Turbocharger Heat Shield - Install - Turbocharger Heat Shield Replacement
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:
Install a NEW catalytic converter seal.
NOTE:
Ensure the brace bracket is flush with the engine block boss.
NOTE:
Ensure the brace bracket is flush with the catalytic converter tab.
NOTE:
Tighten the catalytic converter nuts in a cross pattern.
