Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the air conditioning system refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LCV)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LTG) .
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LTG)Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LCV) .

  4. Remove the radiator upper brackets (2). Radiator Upper Bracket Replacement (LTG, LGX) .
  5. Remove the front bumper impact bar. Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement .
  6. Remove the front bumper fascia center support and the forward range radar module if equipped. Forward Range Radar Module Replacement , or Front Bumper Fascia Center Support Replacement .
  7. Reposition the electrical harness out of the way.
  8. Remove the front bumper fascia upper support. Front Bumper Fascia Upper Support Replacement .
    9. NOTE:

    Cap the fittings and plug the holes when removing the transmission fluid cooler pipe and the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe.

  9. Place a drain pan under the transmission fluid cooler pipe and the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe, if equipped with an auxiliary transmission cooler.

  10. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler pipe retaining ring (1) from the air conditioning condenser, if equipped with an auxiliary transmission cooler. Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  11. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler pipe (2) from the air conditioning condenser.

  12. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe retaining ring (1) from the air conditioning condenser, if equipped with an auxiliary transmission cooler. Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  13. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe (2) from the air conditioning condenser.
  14. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Base)Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (V-Series) .

  15. Remove the air conditioning compressor and condenser hose nut (1) from the air conditioning condenser.
  16. Remove the air conditioning compressor and condenser hose (2) from air conditioning condenser.
  17. Remove and discard the sealing washer (3).

  18. Remove air conditioning condenser outlet tube nut (3) from the condenser.
  19. Remove air conditioning condenser outlet tube (5) from the condenser.
  20. Remove and discard the sealing washer (4).
  21. Lower the drivetrain and front suspension frame enough to access the air conditioning condenser outlet tube to radiator mounting bolt. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Removal and Installation (V-Series)Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Removal and Installation (Non V-Series) .
  22. Remove the air conditioning condenser outlet tube to radiator mounting bolt (2).
  23. Remove the hood latch mounting bolts and reposition the hood latch out of the way. Hood Primary and Secondary Latch ReplacementHood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement (ATS-V) .
  24. Remove the upper air baffle and deflector retainers. Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement (LGX)Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement (LTG)Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement (LF4) .
  25. Remove the radiator air lower baffle and deflector side retainers from the radiator and charge air cooler. Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement (LGX)Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement (LTG)Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement (LF4) .
  26. Reposition the radiator air lower baffle away from the condenser and radiator.
  27. Remove and discard the sealing washer (4).

  28. Remove the air conditioning condenser bolts (1) from the radiator.
  29. Remove the air conditioning condenser (2) from the radiator.
