Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LF4) .
  2. Remove the charge air bypass valve. Refer to Charge Air Bypass Valve Replacement - Left Side .
  3. Remove the bank 2 turbocharger heat shield fasteners to gain access to the actuator retainer. Refer to Turbocharger Heat Shield Replacement (LF4 Bank 1)Turbocharger Heat Shield Replacement (LF4 Bank 2) .

    NOTE:

    Note the position of the retainer for future installation.

  4. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator arm retainer (1) securing the actuator arm (2).

  5. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator fasteners (1) from the turbocharger wastegate actuator (2).
    1. Disconnect the charge air bypass valve vacuum tube from the turbocharger wastegate actuator. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
    2. Remove the turbocharger wastegate actuator.
