Removal Procedure

- Fuel Pressure Relief -Relieve the fuel system pressure.
- Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement -Remove
- Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement (LGX) -Remove and DISCARD
- Electrical Connector -Disconnect
- Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fastener -Remove
- Using the EN-49248 Injector Rail Assembly Remover (1), evenly raise the fuel injection fuel rail (2) as an assembly.
- Once the fuel injection fuel rail is free, remove the EN-49248 Injector Rail Assembly Remover (1).
- Once the fuel injection fuel rail is removed, remove the fuel injectors and rebuild them. Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection
NOTE:
Ensure the curved hook EN-49248-3 of the Injector Rail Assembly Remover is properly seated across the underside of the fuel rail as shown. The flat hook EN-49248-4 will NOT work for this application.
NOTE:
Use care when removing the fuel injection fuel rail assembly in order to prevent damage to the fuel injector spray tips.
NOTE:
The direct fuel injectors must be rebuilt whenever the injector has been released from the fuel rail or cylinder head.
