Valve Rocker Arm Cleaning and Inspection

- Inspect the valve rocker arm roller (1) for the following:
- Flat spots
- Excessive scoring and pitting
- Ensure the roller spins freely
- Inspect the valve rocker arm tip area (2).
- Inspect the valve rocker arm hydraulic lash adjuster (HLA) pivot area (3).
- Inspect the valve rocker arm retaining clip (4).
- Inspect the valve rocker switching arm roller (5) for the following:
- Flat spots
- Excessive scoring and pitting
- Ensure the roller spins freely
- Inspect the valve rocker switching arm tip area (6).
- Inspect the valve rocker switching arm duel feed hydraulic lash adjuster (DFHLA) pivot area (7).
- Replace the valve rocker switching arm or followers as necessary.
