Removal Procedure

  1. Remove Camshaft Timing Chain - Left Side - Camshaft Timing Chain Assembly Replacement - Left Side

  2. Remove Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield (1) - Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement
  3. Remove Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe - Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement

  4. Remove Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter (2) @Bank 2 - Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 1, LGX)Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 2, LGX)

  5. Remove Oil Level Indicator Tube (1) - Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement 
  6. Remove the ground wire bolt and ground wire at the rear of the cylinder head.
  7. Disconnect and reposition harness as necessary.
  8. Remove Camshaft -Left Side - Camshaft Replacement - Left Side

  9. Remove Camshaft Carrier- Left Side (2) - Camshaft Carrier Removal - Left Side

  10. Remove and DISCARD the 2 front M8 left cylinder head bolts (1).
  11. Remove Cylinder Head Bolt (2) and DISCARD
  12. Remove Cylinder Head Assembly (3)
  13. Remove Cylinder Head Gasket (4) and DISCARD
  14. Clean and inspect Cylinder Head - Cylinder Head Cleaning and Inspection
  15. Clean and inspect Engine Block - Engine Block Cleaning and Inspection
  16. Disassemble the cylinder head as necessary. Cylinder Head Disassemble
