Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 GMC Acadia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Test fit the rear suspension upper lateral link to the knuckle (2) prior to installation. If the rear suspension upper lateral link does not easily fit, the split sleeve bushing (1) must be repositioned by performing the following steps:

    1. Install a suitable socket (2) that is slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the split sleeve bushing (1).
    2. Install a suitable socket (3) that is larger than the outside diameter of the split sleeve bushing on the opposite side of the knuckle (6).
    3. Install a suitable bolt (4) and nut (5).

    4. Ensure that the socket (1) is larger than the split sleeve bushing and sits flush against the knuckle (2).

    5. Rotate the nut (1) forcing the socket (2) and the split sleeve bushing (3) flush with the knuckle (4).

    6. The split sleeve bushing (1) should now be flush with the knuckle (2) as shown.

  2. Install Knuckle (1).

  3. Install Rear Suspension Upper Lateral Link (1) @Knuckle. Rear Suspension Upper Lateral Link Replacement 

    Install a NEW bolt.

  4. Install Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm (1) @Knuckle. Lower Control Arm Replacement 

    Install a NEW bolt.

    Install a NEW bolt.

    Install a NEW bolt.
