Removal Procedure

- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief
- Remove Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement
- Remove and DISCARD Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement
- Disconnect Electrical Connector (1) @ Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Wiring Harness (2)
- Remove Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fasteners (1) (Qty: 3)
- Using the EN-49248 Injector Rail Assembly Remover (1), evenly raise the fuel injection fuel rail (2) as an assembly.
- Once the fuel injection fuel rail is free, remove the EN-49248 Injector Rail Assembly Remover (1).
- Once the fuel injection fuel rail (2) is removed, remove the fuel injectors and rebuild them. Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection
NOTE:
Ensure the hook of the Injector Rail Assembly Remover is properly seated across the underside of the fuel rail as shown.
NOTE:
Use care when removing the fuel injection fuel rail assembly in order to prevent damage to the fuel injector spray tips.
NOTE:
The direct fuel injectors must be rebuilt whenever the injector has been released from the fuel rail or cylinder head.
