Installation Procedure

- Clean the contact surfaces between the transmission and the transfer case.
- Support the transfer case with a suitable jack, and secure with suitable straps.
- Raise and align the transfer case in the correct position in relation to the transmission.
- Install the transfer case (2) to the transmission.
- Install the transfer case-to-transmission bolts (3) and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).
- Connect the shift actuator electrical connector.
- Connect the transfer case vent hose (1) to the transfer case (2).
- Install the transfer case bracket. Refer to Transfer Case Bracket Replacement (With LGX Engine) Transfer Case Bracket Replacement (With LCV Engine)
- Install the rear mount through bolt. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Install the rear mount bracket. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Bracket Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Install the warm up three way catalytic converter. Refer to Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 1, LGX)Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 2, LGX)Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (LCV)
- Connect the two piece propeller shaft from the transfer case. Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement
- Check power transfer case fluid level. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities , and Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
