Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
    2. Fig 1: Breaker Bar, Proper Size Socket And Wheel Drive Shaft Nut

  2. With the aid of an assistant holding the brake pedal down, use a breaker bar (1) and the proper size socket (2) to loosen the wheel drive shaft nut (3).

  3. Remove and DISCARD Wheel Drive Shaft Nut (1)

  4. Using the J-45859  hub puller (1), separate the wheel drive shaft from the wheel bearing/hub assembly.
  5. Remove Rear Knuckle. Refer to Knuckle Replacement

  6. Use a suitable flat bladed tool to separate the wheel drive shaft (1) from the differential carrier assembly (2).

  7. Remove Wheel Drive Shaft (1)

  8. Remove and DISCARD O-Ring (2) @ Wheel Drive Shaft
  9. Remove and DISCARD Retaining Ring (1) @ Wheel Drive Shaft
