Removal Procedure

Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) .
Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LCV) .

Using the BO-38185 hose clamp pliers, remove the radiator outlet hose (1) from the water outlet (2).

Disconnect the thermostat housing connector (1) and remove the engine harness retainer (2) from the water pump.

Remove the thermostat bypass pipe fasteners (1) and remove the thermostat bypass pipe (2) from the water pump.
Discard the thermostat bypass pipe gasket (3).

Remove the water pump fasteners (3) and (4) remove the water pump (2).
Discard the water pump seal (1).
