Removal Procedure

Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) .
Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LCV) .
Reposition the engine control module and bracket without disconnecting the module electrical connectors. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .

Remove the radiator inlet hose (1) from the water outlet (2).

Remove the thermostat bypass pipe fasteners (1).

Remove the thermostat bypass hose (2) from the thermostat bypass pipe (1).

Remove the thermostat bypass pipe (2) and discard the gasket (1).
