Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LCV)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) 
  2. Remove Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV From Radiator Surge Tank to Radiator and Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe) 
  3. Remove Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV Radiator Surge Tank to Heater Coolant Pump) Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV Heater Outlet Hose Connector at Heater Outlet Pipe to Heater Core Connector) 
  4. Remove Power Transfer Unit Vent Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank. Refer to Power Transfer Unit Vent Replacement
1 Radiator Surge Tank Bolt
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Radiator Surge Tank

Procedure

  1. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) 
  2. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
