Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) 
  2. Remove Battery Tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement
  3. Remove Engine Rear Noise Shield. Refer to Engine Rear Noise Shield Replacement
  4. Remove Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly @ Bank 1. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement - Bank 1
    5. Fig 1: Radiator Inlet Hose, Clamp And Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Inlet Pipe Bolt

  5. Disengage Radiator Inlet Hose Clamp (1). Refer to Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type 
  6. Disconnect Radiator Inlet Hose (2)
  7. Remove Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Inlet Pipe Bolt (3)

  8. Remove Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Inlet Pipe (1)
  9. Remove and DISCARD the O-ring seal (2).
