Installation Procedure

  1. Install NEW O-ring seal (2).
  2. Install Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Inlet Pipe (1).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install and tighten Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Inlet Pipe Bolt (3) to 10 N.m (89 lb in)
  4. Connect Radiator Inlet Hose (2)
  5. Engage Radiator Inlet Hose Clamp (1). Refer to Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type 
  6. Install Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly @ Bank 1. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement - Bank 1
  7. Install Engine Rear Noise Shield. Refer to Engine Rear Noise Shield Replacement
  8. Install Battery Tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) 
  10. Start the engine and check for leaks.
