Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the drain plug (1) and seal (2), then tighten to 39 N.m (29 lb ft).

  2. Remove the fill plug (1) and seal (2) from the rear differential housing.
  3. Fill the rear differential with the proper synthetic gear lubricant. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , Approximate Fluid Capacities 
  4. Inspect the gear oil level to ensure it is even with the bottom of the fill plug hole.

  5. Install the fill plug (1) and seal (2) in the rear differential housing and tighten to 39 N.m (29 lb ft).
  6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
