Installation Procedure

Using a suitable jack stand support the torque tube assembly.

NOTE:

The torque tube and RDM are balanced as an assembly. When re-using the original torque tube it should be re-installed in the same position in relation the pinion splines.

Ensure the torque tube and pinion spline marks are aligned (1).

Install the torque tube assembly (1) and the NEW gasket (2) to the rear differential assembly.

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE:

Apply loctite before installing bolts.

Install and hand tighten the torque tube to differential bolts (1) before torquing to specifications.
Torque the mounting bolts (1) to specifications.
Tighten

Tighten the bolts to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).

Install the front torque tube mounting bolt (1).
Tighten

Tighten the bolt to 160 N.m (118 lb ft).

Install the propeller shaft assembly (1). Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement
Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
