Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without KL9) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With KL9)

  2. Remove Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block Cover (2)
  3. Remove Battery Positive Cable Nut (1)
  4. Remove Battery Positive Cable Nut (3)
  5. Remove Battery Positive Cable (5)
  6. Remove Battery Positive Cable Retainer (4)

  7. Disengage Battery Positive Cable Retainer (4)
  8. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

  9. Remove Starter Solenoid Cable Nut (2)
  10. Remove Battery Positive Cable (1)

  11. Remove Protective Cap (1)
  12. Remove Generator Nut (2)
    13. NOTE:

    Anti-rotation tab is in the 12 o'clock position (arrow).

  13. Remove Battery Positive Cable (3)

  14. Disengage Engine Harness Retainers (3)
  15. Remove Battery Negative Cable Ground Stud (2)
  16. Remove Battery Negative Cable (1)

  17. Disconnect Electrical Connector (1) @Power Steering Assist Motor (2)
  18. Disengage Retainer (4)
  19. Remove the battery positive cable from the vehicle.(3)
