Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 GMC Acadia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Connect the electrical connector (2) and close secondary locking.
- Align the steering wheel airbag fasteners to the steering wheel spring fastener(3)
- Push the steering wheel airbag (1) firmly into the steering wheel in order to engage both upper spring fasteners.
- After both upper spring fasteners snapped in, push at the lower area of the inflatable restraint module to engage the lower spring fastener.
- Install Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Replacement
- Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling .
WARNING:
After installation of the steering wheel airbag module to the steering wheel, slightly pull the module outward. If there is no give on the airbag module then it is secured correctly. If the airbag module is not fully attached personal injury could result.
