WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 GMC Acadia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Diagnostic A
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, connect a test lamp between the ignition circuits listed below and ground.
- X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel - Fuse F20DA
- X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel - Fuse F24DA
- X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel - Circuit breaker F42DA
- Disconnect the harness connector at the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module.
- Momentarily Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 7 X1 and B+.
- Verify the test lamp turns ON and OFF when connecting and disconnecting the jumper wire.
- If the test lamp is always OFF
- Test for infinite resistance between the control circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the control circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Test for less than 1 V between the control circuit and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, connect the harness connector at the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module.
- Disconnect the appropriate X92 USB Receptacle, or X80F Accessory Power Receptacle - Front.
- Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between each of the ignition circuits listed below and ground.
- X92 USB Receptacle - Ignition circuit terminal 6
- X92RA USB Receptacle - Rear Compartment - Ignition circuit terminal 6
- X80F Accessory Power Receptacle - Front - Ignition circuit terminal A
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse good
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF remove the test lamp.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the ignition circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, Replace the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF remove the test lamp.
- Test for infinite resistance between the ignition circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If resistance, test or replace the appropriate X92 USB Receptacle, or X80F Accessory Power Receptacle - Front.
- If the test lamp illuminates
- Test or replace the appropriate X92 USB Receptacle, or X80F Accessory Power Receptacle - Front.
