Removal Procedure

CAUTION:
Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .
- Remove the heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module from the vehicle. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Removal and Installation .
- Remove the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe retaining clip (1) from the clutch master cylinder.
- Disconnect the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe (2) from the clutch master cylinder.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS)Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS-V) .
- Remove the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe (1) retaining clip from the clutch slave cylinder.
- Disconnect the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe (2) from the clutch slave cylinder. Plug the lower hose end.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Disconnect the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe retainer (1).
- Remove the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe grommet (3) from the floor panel.
- Pull the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe (1) upward to expose the clutch slave cylinder hose (2).
- Remove the retaining clip (3) from the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe (1).
- Separate the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe from the lower slave cylinder hose (2).
- Remove the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe from the vehicle.
- Remove the lower slave cylinder hose from the vehicle, if replacement is necessary.
NOTE:
Place shop towels over the carpeting to prevent possible damage.
NOTE:
Install a cap or plug to the exposed hose and clutch master cylinder fittings in order to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
