Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Verify that DTCs P00E9, P00EA, P00EB, P00EC, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, P0128, P023A, P023B, P023C, P0641, P0651, P0697, or P06A3 is not set.
    • If none of the DTCs are set 
    3. NOTE:

    To minimize the effects of residual engine heat, perform Steps 3 and 4 of this verification procedure only if the ignition has been OFF for 8 hours or more.

  3. Verify the following scan tool parameters are within 15°C (27°F) of each other.
    • IAT Sensor 3
    • Start-Up ECT
    • If not within 15°C (27°F) 

      Refer to Circuit System Testing.

    • If within 15°C (27°F) 
  4. Engine idling.
  5. Verify the following scan tool parameters are between the specified ranges.
    • IAT Sensor 3 Sensor; -38 to +148°C (-36 to +298°F)
    • ECT Sensor; -38 to +120°C (-36 to +248°F)
    • If not between the specified ranges 

      Refer to Circuit System Testing; for further diagnosis of the IAT Sensor 3.

      Refer to DTC P0116 (LF4)DTC P0116 (LGX) ; for further diagnosis of the ECT Sensor.

    • If both are between the specified ranges 
  6. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
  7. Verify the DTC does not set.
    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing.

    • If the DTC does not set 
  8. All OK.
