Installation Procedure

Observe the steering wheel horn contact plate spring (1). If the spring has become dislodged from its correct position and is protruding from the back of the horn contact plate, perform the following steps to position it correctly.

Correctly position the top of the steering wheel horn contact plate spring on the horn contact plate (1) and ensure the spring is as close to the top of the horn contact plate as possible.

Insert a curved pick (1) in the horn contact plate spring orifice and hook the horn contact plate spring while keeping the top of the spring in the correct position, in an upward direction.

Rotate the curved pick (1) counterclockwise to avoid interference with the ground wire on the wire harness.
Pull the horn contact plate spring back through the orifice and into the correct position.

Install Steering Wheel Horn Contact (2)

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install Steering Wheel Horn Contact Bolt (1) and tighten 8 N.m (71 lb in)
Connect the electrical connectors.
Install Steering Wheel Spoke Cover. Refer to Steering Wheel Spoke Cover Replacement
