Installation Procedure

- Install the intermediate shaft housing assembly (1) to the intermediate wheel drive shaft.
- Install the intermediate shaft housing mounting bolts (2) to the oil pan. Tighten the intermediate shaft housing assembly mounting bolts to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).
- Apply a small amount of lubricant to the intermediate wheel drive shaft splines. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- Install a new O-ring (2) and the new wheel drive shaft retaining ring (1).
- If applicable, install the transmission cooler line, harness bolt, and bracket. - Install the left front wheel drive shaft. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side .
- Lower the vehicle.
