Removal Procedure

  1. Apply the brake pedal several times until the pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum reserve in the brake booster.
  2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the outer fuel pump insulator. Refer to Fuel Pump Insulator Replacement (Outer) .
  4. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.

  5. Remove the power brake booster vacuum sensor and hose (1) from the power brake booster.

  6. Release the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) from the power brake booster vacuum pump.

  7. Release the power brake booster vacuum hose from the clip (1).

  8. Release the quick connect (1) and remove the power brake booster vacuum hose from the vacuum port on the intake manifold.

  9. Disconnect the vacuum pipe (1) from the power brake booster vacuum hose.
  10. Remove the power brake booster vacuum hose and check valve assembly from the vehicle.
