Removal Procedure

WARNING:
In order to avoid being burned, do not service the exhaust system while it is still hot. Service the system when it is cool.
WARNING:
Avoid contact with HOT components. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves to avoid personal injury.
NOTE:
When replacing a steel exhaust rear muffler insulator with an aluminum exhaust rear muffler insulator, the aluminum exhaust rear muffler insulator must be replaced in pairs.
- Remove Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS)Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS-V)
- Remove Rear Bumper Fascia.Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement
- Cut the flared section of the exhaust rod at the location shown. (1)
- Remove Exhaust Rear Muffler Rear Hanger Fastener (1)
- Remove Exhaust Rear Muffler Insulator (2)
NOTE:
The exhaust muffler rod must be cut prior to removing the exhaust rear muffler insulator to avoid damage to the rubber insulator.
