Installation Procedure

  1. Apply sealant to the threads of the drain plug. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  2. Install the drain plug (2) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  3. Fill the transfer case to the bottom of the fill plug hole. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  4. Apply sealant to the threads of the fill plug. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  5. Install the fill plug (1) and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  6. Lower the vehicle.
