Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Cadillac ATS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install a NEW seal using DT-49861-A Seal Installer.
- Install the rear output shaft seal dirt deflector (5) using J-41736 Bearing Installer.
- Install the J-45012 Holding Fixture to the rear output shaft flange (4).
- Install a NEW rear output shaft flange O-ring seal (3).
- Install a NEW rear output shaft flange washer (2).
- Install a NEW rear output shaft flange nut (1) and tighten to 305 - 332 N.m (225 - 245 lb ft).
- Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (LTG, LGX, LCV)Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (LF4) .
- Check the fluid level. Add fluid, if necessary. Refer to Transfer Case Fluid Replacement .
- Lower the vehicle.
NOTE:
Use M10 x 1.5 mm nuts and bolts to retain the tool to the flange.
NOTE:
Use a NEW washer.
