Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS)Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS-V) .
  2. Remove the front propeller shaft. Refer to Front Axle Propeller Shaft Replacement (LGX, LTG) .

  3. Remove the front output shaft (1) using J-2619-A  Slide Hammer w/Adapter and J-45019  Flange and Pinion Cage Remover with three M8 x 1.25 mm bolts to retain the adapter to the flange of the shaft.
  4. Remove and DISCARD the front output shaft retaining ring (2).
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Machined Surface Damage Caution .

  5. Remove the front output shaft seal dirt deflector (3).
  6. Remove the front output shaft seal (4).
