Check failure records for further information on the conditions present when this DTC set.
If the transfer case oil temperature sensor circuits are open or have high resistance the scan tool will indicate -40°C (-40°F).
If the transfer case oil temperature circuits are shorted to voltage the scan tool will read 154°C (300°F).
If the transfer case fluid temperature DTC is set due to an actual overheat condition, and not an electrical fault, the SERVICE AWD indicator will NOT illuminate, but the AWD OFF indicator WILL illuminate for as long as the temperature stays above the 135°C (275°F) thermal reset threshold.
Once corrected, you must power down the K69 transfer case control module in order to clear this code.
EL-49742 harness is a good source for B+ and ground.
The transfer case drain plug is a good source for ground.
