Installation Procedure

- Raise the differential carrier assembly (1) into position.
- Install the NEW differential carrier rear bolt (1) and tighten to:
- First Pass: 220 N.m (162 lb ft)
- Final Pass: plus 60 degrees
- Install the 2 differential carrier front bolts (1) and tighten to:
- First Pass: 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Final Pass: plus 90 degrees
- Install the rear wheel drive shafts to the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side (LTG, LGX) , Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side (LGX, LTG)
- Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (LTG, LGX, LCV)
- Fill the differential with the proper fluid. Refer to Differential Oil Replacement (195mm Axle)
- Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:
Do NOT reuse differential carrier rear bolt. DISCARD and replace with NEW only.
