Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Cadillac ATS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate Q37 Shock Absorber Actuator, Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Test for 9.5-11 V between the control circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If less than 9.5 V
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K19 Suspension Control Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between the control circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K19 Suspension Control Module, Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the control circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the K19 Suspension Control Module.
- If greater than 11 V
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K19 Suspension Control Module, Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the control circuit and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the K19 Suspension Control Module.
- If between 9.5-11 V
- Test for greater than 9.5 V between the control circuit terminal 1 and the low control circuit terminal 2.
- If less than 9.5 V
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K19 Suspension Control Module.
- Test for less than 1 V between the low control circuit and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the low control circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the K19 Suspension Control Module.
- If greater than 9.5 V
- Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K19 Suspension Control Module, Ignition ON/Vehicle in Service Mode.
- Test for infinite resistance between the low control circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance
- Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance
- Replace the Q37 Shock Absorber Actuator.
- Verify the DTC does not set while operating the vehicle under Conditions for Running the DTC.
- If the DTC sets
Replace the K19 Suspension Control Module.
- If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
