Component Testing

M3L

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S86 Vehicle Stability Control Switch.
  2. Test for infinite resistance between terminal 1 and the ground terminal 2 with the switch in the open position.
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the S86 Vehicle Stability Control Switch.

    • If infinite resistance 
  3. Test for less than 5 Ω between terminal 1 and the ground terminal 2 with the switch in the closed position.
    • If 5 Ω or greater 

      Replace the S86 Vehicle Stability Control Switch.

    • If less than 5 Ω 
  4. All OK.

M5N/M5T

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S126 Drive Mode Select Switch.
  2. Test for infinite resistance between terminal 1 and the ground terminal 9 with the switch in the open position.
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the S126 Drive Mode Select Switch.

    • If infinite resistance 
  3. Test for less than 5 Ω between terminal 1 and the ground terminal 9with the switch in the closed position.
    • If 5 Ω or greater 

      Replace the S126 Drive Mode Select Switch.

    • If less than 5 Ω 
  4. All OK.
