Installation Procedure

  1. Install Front Suspension Strut (1)
  2. Partially lower the vehicle.

  3. Install, but do NOT tighten Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Nuts (1) (Qty: 3)
  4. Raise the vehicle.

  5. Install Front Suspension Strut Bolts (2) (Qty: 2)
    6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Install Front Suspension Strut Nuts (1) (Qty: 2)

    Tighten

    1. First Pass: 150 N.m (111 lb ft)
    2. Final Pass: (80-95 degrees)

  7. Install Front Stabilizer Shaft Link (1) @ Strut Assembly. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Non V-Series) Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (V-Series)

  8. Install the front brake hose clip (1) on the front strut assembly bracket. Refer to Front Brake Hose Replacement (JE5)Front Brake Hose Replacement (J55)Front Brake Hose Replacement (J6G)

  9. Install the front wheel speed sensor harness clip (3) in the front strut assembly bracket.
  10. Install the electronic suspension wiring harness clip (2) in the front strut assembly bracket and connect the electronic suspension wiring connector (1).
  11. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Non V-Series)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series)
  12. Lower the vehicle completely.

  13. Tighten Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Nuts (1) (Qty: 3) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

    CAUTION:

    The front suspension strut mount upper cup MUST be fully seated within the strut tower and the front suspension strut bumper stop MUST be tightened to the correct specification. Do NOT over-tighten the stop or damage to the shock absorber will occur.

  14. Install the front suspension strut mount upper cup (1).
    15. NOTE:

    The front suspension strut bumper stop MUST be installed with vehicle resting completely on the ground. Do NOT attempt to tighten the stop with the wheels lifted.

  15. Install the front suspension strut bumper stop (2) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  16. Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement
