Removal Procedure

    NOTE:

    Some vehicles may NOT have a front suspension strut upper mounting cap. If no cap is present then continue to Step 2.

  1. Remove Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Cap (1)

    DISCARD the cap.

    NOTE:

    If the front suspension strut mount upper cup and front suspension strut bumper stop are NOT already installed then continue to Step 4.

  2. Remove the front suspension strut bumper stop (1).
  3. Remove the front suspension strut mount upper cup (2).
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS)Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS-V)
  5. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Non V-Series)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series)

  6. Disconnect the electronic suspension wiring connector (1) and remove the electronic suspension wiring harness clip (2) from the front strut assembly bracket.
  7. Remove the front wheel speed sensor harness clip (3) from the front strut assembly bracket.

  8. Remove the front brake hose clip (1) from the front strut assembly bracket. Refer to Front Brake Hose Replacement (JE5)Front Brake Hose Replacement (J55)Front Brake Hose Replacement (J6G)

  9. Remove Front Stabilizer Shaft Link (1) @ Strut Assembly. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Non V-Series) Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (V-Series)

  10. Remove Front Suspension Strut Nuts (1) (Qty: 2)
  11. Remove Front Suspension Strut Bolts (2) (Qty: 2)
  12. Partially lower the vehicle.

  13. Remove Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Nuts (1) (Qty: 3)
  14. Raise the vehicle.

  15. Remove Front Suspension Strut (1)
  16. Transfer components as necessary.
